ABOUT TELENOR NEWS NEWS AND PRESS RELEASES VIRTUAL GUIDE THROUGH SERBIA’S ECO TRAVEL DESTINATIONS UNVEILED
Virtual guide through Serbia’s eco travel destinations unveiled
September 10, 2013 – Local and foreign tourists, as well as all people who opt for an outdoor holiday will have an opportunity to get better acquainted with eco travel destinations and natural and cultural heritage of Serbia owing to an unusual E-guide – an Android app. The EcoVirtour project has the support of the Telenor Foundation, the Tourism Sector of the Finance and Economy Ministry and the Tourist Organization of Serbia.
This virtual eco tour through protected areas in Serbia will enable app users to obtain information about flora, fauna, cultural monuments, outdoor activities, local products and customs. The app features the following protected areas: Fruška Gora National Park, Tara National Park, Đerdap National Park, Kopaonik National Park, Vlasina Protected Landscape, Đavolja Varoš Natural Landmark and Uvac and Zasavica special nature reserves.
- EcoVirtour website and the application include a consolidated tourist offer, as well as free-of-charge and fast access to all needed information on Serbia’s eco travel destinations. The app currently includes the main protected areas in our country, although we plan to update the offer with new destinations, EcoDev Centre for Research and Development Projects Manager Sofi Kekić explained.
“We are proud of this project, having in mind that Serbia’s natural beauty has finally been presented in a modern way, available to all, owing to mobile phones and the Internet, Telenor Foundation representative Sanja Rajačić added.
