Telenor Youth Summit for the authors of best ideas
Two winners representing Serbia in Oslo
September 11, 2013 – Telenor is inviting young people to apply for the competition for the best idea on the contribution of the mobile technologies to the resolution of social challenges. The two winners will represent Serbia at the first Telenor Youth Summit, which will be held in Oslo from December 9 to 11, during the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.
Right to participate will have all young people between 18 and 25 years of age who, in video format, present the idea on how mobile phones and the Internet can contribute to the solution of a social problem. By September 30, they need to make a two-minute video in Serbian or English language, post it on one of Internet services for sharing video contents and with a (hashtag) #TelenorSamitMladih share it on Twitter social network.
The Youth Summit is a global initiative of Telenor Group, and is conceived as an arena for exchanging opinions on ways in which mobile communications technologies encourage the growth and change the society. The host of the Summit will be Jon Fredrik Baksaas, CEO of Telenor Group, which is also the sponsor of the Nobel Peace Centre.
“As a mobile services provider, we want to invest in the education of the young as we know that their ideas are those which will in the right way point to the direction in which advanced technologies will develop. Our task is to recognize and support them on time, because they are the very driving force of a society”, says Ivana Matijevic, External Affairs Manager in Telenor.
In the course of three days, representatives of all countries of Telenor operations will attend numerous workshops and seminars, which will be organized in parallel to the Nobel Peace Prize awarding event.
