Telenor starts recycling old handsets
Discount for all users who take part in the campaign, special prize for Serbia's longest mobile phone contest winner
May 22, 2007 - Telenor is the first company in Serbia to start recycling old handsets, with the aim of contributing to the environmental protection, taking an active part in solving a growing issue of electronic waste, and raising environmental awareness of the public in Serbia.
During the campaing, Telenor offers a RSD 1,500 discount on a new handset from the Giant Choice to all existing and future users who bring in their old phones. To award their efforts, Telenor invites users to participate in Serbia's longest mobile phone contest. The winner will be awarded a new mobile phone.
The campaign will run until June 22. Old handsets will be collected in all Telenor shops, with the support of Telenor express teams, which will collect old phones at other points of sale.
Telenor's recycling campaign is organized in cooperation with Eko Metal, a waste collecting and processing firm, and is the Company's contribution to “Clean up Serbia” project, carried out by the Serbian Recycling Association.
