Telenor Opened Internet Park In Subotica As Well - Free Telenor Internet in Blue Fountain Park

July 6, 2009 – The Blue Fountain Park in Subotica is getting free Telenor Internet today. Surrounded by the greenery, Subotica citizens will have an opportunity to surf the Web for free in the next three months. After parks in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Niš, and Kraljevo, this is the eighth park in our country which has got free Telenor Internet this year.

The first Internet Park in Subotica has been officially opened by Saša Vučinić, Mayor, and Gábor Kocsis, Chief Financial Officer in Telenor in Serbia.

“We are glad that Subotica has got its first Internet Park. Telenor wishes to make the Internet available to the general public in Serbia and thus support initiation of major issues, progress of smaller communities, and IT literacy. We have launched the cooperation with the city through Igor Štanglicki’s mural, and the Internet Park represents its successful continuation,” said Gábor Kocsis, Chief Financial Officer in Telenor in Serbia.

Telenor has prepared design solutions for all individual Internet parks, installed the equipment and will take care of its maintenance.

“Subotica has invested a lot in the refurbishment of its downtown. The Internet Park introduction will be another important detail in that process, since our citizens deserve an opportunity to have modern and fast communication, provided in this park. We plan to offer such a benefit in other parks in our city as well. I would like to thank Telenor for recognising Subotica as a city open for new ideas and technologies,” said Saša Vučinić, Subotica Mayor.

By implementing the Internet Parks project, Telenor in Serbia contributes to our country’s fast inclusion in the group of developed countries, since the Internet availability and IT literacy have best reflected a development rate of a society for years.

Last June, Serbia got its first Internet Park ever, in Students Park in Belgrade.

The Internet Parks concept has been present in many cities across the world for years, and owing to Telenor Internet, it is available to citizens of Serbia for the second consecutive year.
