Telenor Internet Parks – for the first time in Obrenovac
Free Telenor Internet in 2010 is available in seven towns in Serbia
July 1, 2010 - Citizens of Obrenovac received the first Internet Park in the town square, thanks to cooperation between the City of Belgrade and Telenor. They can use Telenor Internet for free in the next two years.
The park opened Miroslav Čučković, Member of the City Council and Ana Krstić, Manager of Telenor Foundation.
"Today we opened the first park in the suburbs of Belgrade. This successful cooperation with Telenor enabled our citizens to use free Internet downtown Obrenovac and over the next two years they will be able to check mail and surf the Internet in the open air,"said Miroslav Čučković.
"As a leader in telecommunications and broadband Internet in Serbia, we want to offer quality and high-speed Internet connection to as many people as possible because IT literacy in modern society reflects its level of development. We are looking forward to continue cooperation with the City, in order to provide free Internet to the citizens, "said Ana Krstic.
In June 2008, Serbia got its first Internet park, opened in downtown Belgrade in Studentski Park.
In addition to Obrenovac, in 2010 Telenor Internet parks opened in six more towns and cities in Serbia - Novi Pazar, Belgrade, Niš, Bor and Kragujevac and Smederevo
