Telenor foundation provided 10 laptop computers and unlimited internet access for Educational centre in Dimitrovgrad

July 17, 2013 – Owing to Telenor Foundation’s and the Municipality of Dimitrovgrad’s support, users of the Educational Centre in Dimitrovgrad working with children and young people with disabilities as of today have 10 laptops and unlimited Internet access in the next year.
 
Space and technical equipment of the Educational Centre will be used for professional education of staff from different institutions working with children and young people with disabilities. In addition, the facility will be made available to all civil society organisations dealing with issues the minorities are facing, environmental protection, rights of young people and other current social topics. Computers will also be available to all interested citizens without Internet access.
 
 

At the official opening of the Centre, the attendees were addressed by JP “Sportsko turistički centar Dimitrovgrad“ Manager Aleksandar Andrejević, Municipality of Dimitrovgrad President Nebojša Ivanov, Municipality of Dimitrovgrad Deputy President Zoran Petrov and Telenor Foundation representative Sanja Rajačić.
 
The Municipality of Dimitrovgrad has provided space for the Centre, it will cover maintenance costs and will be in charge of its future functioning, whereas the State Administration and Local Self-Government Ministry provided funds for refurbishment and furnishing of the space.
 
Municipality of Dimitrovgrad President Nebojša Ivanov has said that owing to Telenor Foundation, this space has opened doors to all those who would like to bring positive changes into our society. “I would like to use this occasion to thank Foundation for granting us IT equipment, an important precondition to make changes in the modern world. Owing to Telenor, Dimitrovgrad now has one more driving force“.
 
Telenor Foundation pays close attention to socially vulnerable groups guided by the wish to contribute to improvement of their living conditions, especially children and young people. “I am glad that Dimitrovgrad today joins our family of successful projects and I wish them all the luck in their future endeavours,” Telenor Foundation representative Sanja Rajačić explained.
