Telenor first in Serbia to introduce mobile phone purchase in installments

July 14, 2010 – For the first time in Serbia, Telenor has offered an option of buying a handset in installments. As of tomorrow, Telenor’s new and existing postpaid subscribers can buy new mobile phones in six installments, with a 24-month contractual obligation.

When buying a handset in installments, new subscribers file an application for a MasterCard credit card, to be used for settling installments for the device, with an ID as the only document required for the application. A sales clerk fills in an application form, submits it to a bank and, provided a subscriber fulfills conditions of the bank, he/she receives a credit card at a home address.

For mobile phones whose price exceeds RSD 26,000, as is the bank card limit, a subscriber is to pay the rest upon inking a contract.

Postpaid subscribers who are with Telenor network longer than six months can buy a handset in installments without a card and pay installments through monthly bills.
