Telenor expanding its 3G footprint once technology neutrality is implemented

Telenor is ready to use 3G on 900 MHz frequency band which will furthure improve superior customer experience,  Internet speed and quality and increase geographical 3G coverage by more than 10%. In order to do this, it is necessary that technology neutrality, prescribed by the Serbian Law on Electronic Communications, is implemented.

“Serbian Government has done a good job regarding law frame in telecommunications. The State should continue focusing on maintaining a stable, predictable, competitive and transparent environment. With this in mind, we strongly welcome the implementation of technology neutrality that will significantly benefit our customers regarding availability and coverage of high-quality services in both urban and rural areas“, says Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia.

Technology neutrality is prescribed by the Serbian Law on Electronic Communications and Frequency Allocation Plan. All countries in the region (except Albania) have already implemented it, enabling in that way better coverage, higher quality of services towards customers and better spectrum usage, which is a limited natural resource.
