Telenor customers first to experience 4G network in Serbia

Change of SIM cards for 4G capable cards (uSIM cards) already possible in all Telenor shops free of charge

Telenor released 4G signal and, as of today, Telenor postpaid customers are the first to use 4G network with their tariff packages. At this moment, 4G network covers areas of Belgrade, Subotica city centre, Kopaonik and Zlatibor. In the upcoming period, Telenor will cover areas of Niš and Novi Sad and continue with Belgrade coverage expansion. Roll-out of 4G will be delivered in phases, first in urban and, later in rural areas, depending on the customers' needs.

”4G launch is the next step in a process of delivering a world class network for our customers and Telenor is fully committed to it. We did first testing of 4G in Serbia already in 2011 with the goal to provide customers with a reliable internet connection, faster downloading, browsing, streaming and page loading. Our strategy is to continue with providing the best network experience for our customers and 4G network is an important element of it”, says Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia.

Telenor already has in its offer devices that support 4G. If the customers already have 4G devices (phones, tablets and MiFis) purchased in Telenor, they do not need to buy new ones, but  only change the SIM card for 4G capable SIM card (uSIM cards) in the nearest Telenor shops, which is already available. SIM cards swap will be free of charge and is a necessary step for customers to experience 4G, besides being in the area covered with 4G network.

4G network brings up to six times faster internet, faster downloading, browsing and streaming than  3G and more reliable internet connection. Customers will save time while using advanced services and have better mobile internet user experience.
