Telenor celebrates sixth anniversary in Serbia

Change at the helm of the company

September 5, 2012 - Ove Fredheim, new CEO  of Telenor Serbia, was presented at the celebration of the company’s sixth business anniversary in our country. Fredheim replaced Kjell-Morten Johnsen, who has been appointed Executive Vice President of Telenor Group and Head of Telenor European operations.

In six years in the Serbian market, Telenor has overhauled its network, which is now one of the fastest and most up-to-date networks in Europe, it has made continuous investments in development of services and the Serbian society, by offering its support to vulnerable social groups, sports and education.

The overall renewal of Smart Network, compatible with the most advanced devices and handsets, is one of the largest capital investments in Serbia. A month and a half ahead of the announced deadline, Telenor has improved overall 3G network and introduced HSPA+ 42 Mbps technology on the entire Serbian territory, in regions covered with 3G signal.

Following the upgrade of all 3G base stations with this technology, users now have at their disposal real speeds upon data download with the average speed between 10 and 20 Mbps, ever faster and better Internet browsing and improved user-friendly experience.
