Telenor announces winners of App Builder

20 February, 2014 – The last round of the competition for the best android application in the organisation of Telenor and Samsung is over. The topic of the last round of the competition was ’’Local Hero’’ which aimed at creating local applications for favourite sports clubs, municipalities, theatres and many others.

There were 1,231 initiated Android applications in the last round of the competition, out of which 197 qualified.

The first three awards went to the application ’’Stepa borough’’, by Raša Mladenović, ’’Belgrade Zoo“ by Daniel Fizešan and ’’Descriptive geometry step by step“ by Petar Pejić. The second three awards were given to applications ’’Rakia bar“ by Željko Jovanović, ’’Pet Centre“ by Darko Đoković and ’’Vranje my town“ by Stevica Arsić, whereas applications ’’Novi Beograd’’ by Nenad Stamenić, ’’Milan Konjović“ by Andrej Lazić and ’’Danube park“ by Verica Kuzmanović ranked third.

From January 2013 to January 2014, which was how long the overall competition for the best application lasted, 28,409 competitors took part, with 8,785 registered applications and more than 800 applications functional and ready for launch on App Store.

’’All creative and innovative fans of Android applications had the opportunity to take part in the competition. The participants did not need any technical knowledge in programming, only a desire and good ideas to make applications by using the help of a unique platform on portal ’’Dobre stvari’’, says Uroš Zorić, eBusiness Administrator in Telenor.

Samsung presented altogether nine awards to the winners: three Smart TV sets, Galaxy Note 3 handsets and Galaxy Note tablets 10.1.2014 edition. Also, company Wireless Media awarded the best 100 participants with professional licences with which they will be able to make more complex applications and launch them on Google Play.
