Telenor ad Olympic Committee organised welcome event for Serbian Olympic Team

Vlade Divac assessed participation of Serbian athletes in Vancouver and announced activities of Olympic Committee; athletes granted with phones and special packs
March 04, 2010 – The Olympic Committee of Serbia and Telenor, the grand sponsor of the Olympic team, have organised a welcome event for the Serbian bobsleigh team and the national team skier, and a meeting with media representatives.

Bobsleighers Vuk Radjenovic, Igor Sarcevic, Slobodan Matijevic, and Milos Savic and skier Nevena Ignjatovic were part of the Serbian Olympic team in Vancouver, with 10 members in total, who competed in 4 disciplines.
Satisfied with the performance of the Serbian Olympic team, Vlade Divac, President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, has announced activities of the Committee in the coming period.
Telenor has granted mobile phones and specially designed packs to the members of Serbian Olympic team who for the first time participated at the Winter Olympic Games under the flag of Serbia. Before departure for Vancouver, Telenor provided competition equipment for the Serbian bobsleigh team and additionally presented them to the general public through the “My Team” campaign.
“Telenor and the Olympic Team have already cooperated at the previous Olympic games. After Beijing, our wish and obligation was to continue supporting Serbian athletes, as well as all talents, and to invest into sports, as an important segment of a society. We are glad that, owing to our sponsorship, Serbia for the first in its history had representatives in the bobsleigh discipline. Preparations for the largest global sports event, Olympic Games, are important for the development of every athlete, and our company, as the grand sponsor, is here to support them from Vancouver to London 2012,” says Kjell-Morten Johnsen, CEO of Telenor in Serbia.
Cooperation between Telenor and the Olympic Committee was launched in 2007, when the company sponsored the team which represented our country at the Beijing Games. This year, we have renewed the grand sponsorship of all activities of the Olympic Committee and the Olympic team, which will represent Serbia at most important sports events in the next three years.

The new Olympic cycle is marked by the number 100: this year, the Olympic Committee of Serbia celebrate its 100th anniversary, while in London the Olympic team of Serbia will celebrate 100 years since its first Olympic competition. It is highly likely that the London team will win its 100th medal, since it is only two medals short from that number.
