New Roaming Zones
November 30, 2007 – Starting December 1 Telenor is introducing an even simpler tariff system for its services in roaming, for its prepaid and postpaid users, by introducing four roaming zones divided according to the geographic location of the countries.
The first zone includes neighboring countries and Greece; the second consists of the other European courtiers (excluding Russia); Russia, Asia and North America are in the third zone, while the fourth zone comprises of Africa, Central and South America, and Australia.
The price of services within a roaming zone is the same, regardless of which country the user is in, what network they are connected to or what destination they are dialing, i.e. where the incoming call originates from.
The price of roaming is presently much cheaper for certain European countries. A detailed overview of the new zones and tariffs is available here.
