Month of Giving Away - Telenor and Unicef
Unicef greeting cards in MMS format for the first time
November 30, 2007 – Telenor users in Serbia will be the first in the world to be able to send the famous UNICEF greeting cards as MMS messages, thanks to the partnership between UNICEF and Telenor. Telenor will pay all proceeds from the sale of electronic cards to the UNICEF account for programs for helping children in our country.
Starting December 1, 2007, the synergy of tradition and new technologies will enable Telenor users to choose between 25 greeting cards offered on Telenor’s WAP portal and web site (wap.telenor.rs and www.telenor.rs/portal). At a price of RSD 50, VAT excl., the users can download and send cards to anyone in the Telenor network, as well as users in other national networks.
Unique cooperation between Unicef and Telenor: Judita Rajhenberg and Sandra Štajner
Additionally, starting December 2, by dialing 063/9009 during the Teleton charity program, Telenor network users will be directly included in this humanitarian action. The same number will remain open for call and SMS messages until January 21, 2008. Calls are charged RSD 30 for establishing the connection and RSD 30 per each minute. By sending an SMS message to this number, RSD 100 is paid to programs benefiting children.
UNICEF will use the funds collected in the sale of greeting cards and phone calls to finance the activities that will contribute to a systemic resolution of the three crucial problems that children in Serbia face: violence, inadequate treatment of children without parental care and quality of life during early childhood.
