Internet club opened in Loznica
The Club is located in the Youth Centre, and owing to the Telenor Foundation, all visitors can use the Internet for free
June 16, 2012 - The opening of the Youth Centre in Loznica also included the opening of the Internet Club, where all visitors will have free Internet access, resulting from the cooperation between the Office for Youth of the Municipality of Loznica and the Telenor Foundation.
“This is a nice present to the city and youth of Loznica. Through such accomplishments, we strive to offer the best conditions for young people, as they are our future as well as our present. Our objective is to provide them with conditions where they can socialise, express and develop their skills, and become a more visible part of our community. Among other partners, we would like to thank Telenor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy, since they share the same values with us and help us achieve these goals,” says Vidoje Petrović, President of the Municipality of Loznica.
The Telenor Foundation donated 10 laptops and modems for fast and simple access to the unlimited Internet to the Club.
“We are proud of the cooperation with the Office for Youth of the Municipality of Loznica, since any such project contributes to one of the important objectives for Telenor and the entire society – an increase of PC literacy. By launching the Internet centres which are available to everyone, we wish to provide as many people as possible with free and quality Internet access via Smart Network. In its work, the Telenor Foundation is focused on development projects designed to offer better-quality education and advancement of young people, and we hope that young people in Loznica will perceive it as well,” says Ivana Vranjican, External Affairs Manager in Telenor.
The Youth Centre was opened at the underground floor of the “Vuk Karadžić” Grammar School, in the aim of improving living conditions of children and youth, and offering various social and educational activities. The Centre will implement numerous programmes in the area of education and professional advancement, youth healthcare and healthy lifestyles, social inclusion, leisure time and informal education. Among other things, young people will have at disposal Italian language courses, acting classes, sculpture and other art workshops, project design workshops and employment trainings. The Centre premises are fully adjusted to persons with disabilities.
