Free Telenor Internet In Skate Park In New Belgrade And Proleće Park At Topličin Venac - Parks in Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac opened as well
Belgrade, June 29, 2009 – Following the park near Vuk’s Monument, Proleće Park at Topličin venac and Skate Park in New Belgrade have obtained free Telenor Internet, at disposal to visitors in the next two years.
Proleće Internet Park has officially been opened today by Miroslav Čučković, a member of the Executive Council of the City Assembly, Mirjana Božidarević, President of the Municipality of Stari Grad, and Ana Krstić, Manager of the Telenor Foundation.
Internet Parks have also been opened in Novi Sad, Niš, and Kragujevac this year, and there will be more of them across Serbia and in the capital, in the aim of facilitating the IT literacy development and Internet availability among the population.
Telenor has designed each individual park, provided the equipment and will take care of its maintenance.
Last June, Serbia got its first Internet Park ever, when Telenor’s signal in Students Park provided fast Internet access in open public space. After Belgrade, citizens of Novi Sad, Niš, Kraljevo, and Kragujevac also got the Internet Parks. Telenor’s 3G signal, which enables the fast Internet, now reaches almost 45 percent of the population of Serbia in more than 200 cities and towns countrywide.
Supported by the Secretariat for Utilities and Housing Services, public utility company Greenery Belgrade, and the Energy Administration, the City of Belgrade will provide light systems and public space maintenance services for the parks.
The Internet in parks also adds up to the tourist offer of the city, and enables all Belgrade visitors to feel as in any other large city of the world, where they can receive real-time information on developments in their home country, as well as learn about the city they are visiting in the fastest possible manner.
