November 17, 2014 – Recently renovated Botanic Garden “Jevremovac” has become one of the places where visitors can use free Internet thanks to Telenor project of Internet Park opening all across Serbia for the seventh year in a row.
Throughout the year in the beautiful scenery of this unique monument of nature and culture with a rich plant fund with over 2000 different species, the visitors will be able to surf, check e-mails and communicate with friends through social networks with no limits.
Also, while visiting “Jevremovac” the visitors will be able to use 35 benches for rest thanks to the cooperation with Telenor Foundation.
“In one of the biggest and most beautiful gardens in Europe Internet will be available at any moment to the students of Biological Faculty that are regularly on lectures in botanic garden acquiring knowledge and in the name of those students and University community we thank Telenor for this” said Prof. Dr. Petar Martin, Botanic Institute and Botanic Garden “Jevremovac” Manager.
During the reconstruction of Botanic Garden large and small glass house were renovated as well as open space spreading on around five hectares which will increase educational and research capacities of the Biological Faculty in Botanic Institute. Botanic Garden has been declared a monument of nature since 1995 and in 2007 it acquired a status of cultural monument in Serbia.
In June 2008 Serbia got its first Internet Park thanks to Telenor, and in this moment 16 parks are active in eight cities in Serbia.
