Eighth Year In A Row Awards “Professor Dr Ilija Stojanović” Presented

Telenor Foundation So Far Awarded 59 Students And Experts
 December 20, 2014 – Traditionally, eighth year in a row, Telenor Foundation presented the best students of the Department of Telecommunications, authors of the best expert papers for the Conference TELFOR 2014 and the author of the best expert paper published in an international magazine with “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” awards.
As part of the ceremonial academy organised on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, Rade Hajder, Director of Technology in Telenor banka presented the awards to the best graduates of the Department of Telecommunications on behalf of Telenor Foundation. Money prizes, Lenovo Yoga Tablets 8 and one-year unlimited Internet access were also presented to them as an acknowledgement of their success.
The best graduates for 2013/14 are Nemanja Đerić, Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, Nikola Simić, Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Niš and Jelena Bjelica from the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. 
The awarded expert papers from the Conference TELFOR 2014 are: “Implementation of echo audio effect in the programme package MATLAB” by Nemanja M. Nikolić, “Personalized application for estimation of electromagnetic emission of base stations” by Mladen Nedjeljković and “Application of Short Range Ultrasonic Wireless Communication to Smart Plug”, by Yagmura Kirkagac, Ammar Talić and Slađan Veselinović. 
Awards for the best expert paper published in an international magazine went to Angelina R. Totović, Jasna V. Crnjanski, Marko M. Krstić and Dejan M. Gvozdić for the work “An Efficient Semi-Analytical Method for Modelling of Travelling-Wave and Reflective SOAs”.
“The award is an additional motivation and encouragement for further work and improvement. In the last eight years Telenor Foundation supported in this way 59 students and experts and we are glad to contribute through this and other different programmes to the education of the young and continuously invest in them”, said Rade Hajder, Technology Director in Telenor banka.
The Award “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” was established by Telenor Foundation in 2007 in memory of the Academician Professor Dr Ilija Stojanović, who also gave significant contribution to the development of company Telenor. He was a pioneer of modern telecommunications in the space of former SFRY and today’s Serbia and was the founder of the Department of Telecommunications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade. Professor Stojanović was a teacher of practically all generations of today’s experienced telecommunication engineers, who are now the carriers of this industry.
