ABOUT TELENOR NEWS NEWS AND PRESS RELEASES COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND TELENOR INTERNET FOR THE MIONICA HIGH SCHOOL
Computer equipment and Telenor Internet for the Mionica high school
“Mionica” high school got the Telenor Internet coverage and its student’s possibility to surf faster and better within the “Internet for All” project of Telenor Foundation. On this occasion, Telenor managers, together with Ove Fredheim, CEO, installed ten computers, three projectors, and Wi-Fi routers.
“We are happy to have enabled, owing to the Telenor Foundation, more accessible and faster Internet use in the school at all times. During the interactive workshop, we have shown the students that they will have the opportunity to, by working online, develop and open their first business in the future. We believe that they will share the knowledge they have acquired today with their friends,” says Katarina Čarapić, the Principal of the “Mionica” high school.
The “Mionica” high school was founded in 2009. It has a total of seven classes, with 178 students getting education in three different professions: economic technician, server, and chef.
“We believe that Internet is for all. As an integral part of the community, we have dedicated our activities towards helping people to get the full benefit of being connected and empowering them to use the Internet responsibly. We hope that the new equipment will contribute to the IT literacy among young people, which is one of Telenor’s strategic goals,” says Ove Fredheim, CEO of Telenor Serbia.
In the course of the workshop, members of the Telenor’s management team shared practical skills with the students in using the Internet.
In the past eight years, the Telenor Foundation has carried out more than 250 projects and, together with its partners, contributed to the development of society and the local community.
