POSSIBILITY FOR STUDENTS TO START THEIR CARRER IN TELENOR
Strategic partnership of Telenor Serbia and three faculties of the Belgrade University
Belgrade June 27, 2016 – Today, company Telenor Serbia has signed a Memorandum on Cooperation with Faculties of Mathematics, Electrical Engineering and Economics of the Belgrade University. The aim of this cooperation is specialisation of graduate students through internship programmes in Telenor, mentorship programmes, as well as lectures of experts from this company.
Until now, Telenor has organised one-year students' internships, which enabled the young to acquire the first work experiences. Through this programme, in the past four years, 62 students went through, out of which one third stayed with the company.
“By signing this Memorandum we want to raise the cooperation with faculties to a higher level and enable additional education for the students. Such form of cooperation is essential, because it develops links between the economy and educational system and enables the young to prepare for work in a fast changing business environment already during their studies” said Ingeborg Øfsthus, CEO of Telenor Serbia.
The first step in a series of activities envisaged by this Memorandum is the organisation of short two to three-month long student internships in Telenor, with the cooperation of the Faculties. The three faculties, with which the Memorandum was signed today, do not represent a final list of institutions, with which Telenor will cooperate in a similar way. Beginning this fall, it is planned to sign the Memorandum with several state and private faculties and thus provide a possibility for additional specialisation to a broader circle of students.
