Ana Janošev and Veljko Ristić represent Serbia at the Telenor Youth Forum

Belgrade, October 6, 2017 – In partnership with the Nobel Peace Center, talented young leaders from 12 countries will meet for the fifth year in a row in Oslo at the Telenor Youth Forum, in order to team up on solving social challenges. This year Serbia will be represented by Ana Janošev and Veljko Ristić, who were selected from among 45 candidates.

During their stay in Oslo, the delegates will take part in workshops where they will search for solutions to address a global challenge. They will explore how digital technologies can contribute to solving global issues and participate in the events organized around the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony. In 2018, the delegates will be developing digital services, and they will present their work in a digital exhibition organized in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center.

Ana Janošev (25) graduated from Faculty of Political Sciences. She is constantly looking for new challenges, whether they be studies across the ocean, launching the first youth organization in her city, or providing educational support to Roma children. Growing up in Serbia, she has always wanted to work on making social changes, and in the last two years she has been achieving this by supporting young people in developing social enterprises. She thinks of the Telenor Youth Forum as an opportunity to connect with her peers from around the world who share similar worldviews and to work together with them to solve social problems on a global scale.

Veljko Ristić (21), a student of Faculty of Political Sciences, is a young activist who believes that hard work and effort pay off and that there are no limits to bringing ideas to life. He took his first steps as a volunteer of the Red Cross Kraljevo. He is one of the founders of the Students for the United Nations of the Faculty of Political Sciences association, which promotes the United Nations’ ideals and mission, as well as its sustainable development goals. For Veljko, the Telenor Youth Forum represents the possibility of solving social issues facing young people in Serbia and the world and the possibility to join forces to reach a solution.
