Almost whole Serbia covered with 4G
Belgrade, June 19th, 2017 – According to the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communication and Postal Services (RATEL) report for Q1 2017, Telenor has covered 90% of population and 60% of territory with 4G network, more than other two operators combined. According to the same report, which besides 4G coverage also shows coverage of population and territory with 2G and 3G network, Telenor has the most base stations in Serbia – more than 7000.
Insight into the data for the last year reveals that Telenor has built the most new 4G base stations, 730, and the plan is to increase this number by the end of the year.
“Having in mind that more than a half of total mobile internet traffic in Serbia goes through Telenor network, we want to make sure our customers have superior data experience, wherever they are. RATEL report for this year shows we have succeeded in that. Population coverage, signal quality and internet speed are the most important network features for each customer, and our priority is to enable experience consistency at anytime, anywhere in Serbia” says Ingeborg Øfsthus, CEO Telenor Serbia.
This company has recently enabled 4G+ technology for seven biggest cities in Serbia, which allows for up to two and a half time faster internet speeds, even better signal quality and instant content download.
