2017 Telenor Youth Forum Competition Kicks Off
Belgrade, June 7, 2017 – Telenor is inviting young people to apply for the fifth Youth Forum, which is once again this year organized by Telenor Group in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center.
The competition is open to applicants who are between 20 and 28 years of age and still in college or recently graduated, who have excellent English skills and an idea how to solve a major social issue using digital technology. All those interested can apply through www.telenor.com/youthforum by sending in their resume and a short cover letter by August 15 at the latest.
The Telenor Youth Forum (TYF) is a global program based on our shared belief that young people can use digital technology to drive real change in the world. The Forum will welcome two candidates each from countries where Telenor operates, across Europe and Asia. The Forum starts on December 8 in Oslo, when the participants will be teamed up and given tasks to work on throughout the year. They will meet again next year in Bangkok to present their digital solutions to global challenges.
Last year’s candidates tackled climate change, unemployment, gender equality, mental health, and education for young refugees. Along the way they got help from mentors, experts in different fields who work in international organizations such as UNICEF and the Red Cross.
The Telenor Youth Forum is a year-long program, designed to give young people an opportunity to contribute to global social change.
