Telenor has established a system of responsible waste management so as to introduce control over further treatment and disposal of all types of waste generated by its operations. An essential part of this system is waste separation, its adequate treatment and responsible disposal.

In June 2010 we introduced waste separation practice in the administrative building in Novi Beograd. Bins for waste separation have been placed (paper, plastic and aluminium) in the premises, and the employees have joined in the recycling process.

Telecommunications equipment, IT equipment components, PCs, mobile phones and other electronic devices contain hazardous materials. Thus, improper disposal of this equipment can have major consequences on the people’s health and environment. As part of the waste management system, this type of waste that Telenor generates is sent for further treatment, i.e. recycling.

Telenor as a Company generates significant quantities of packaging waste, such as paper/cardboard, plastic and wood. In line with the legal regulations, Telenor is making sure that this waste is sent for recycling.
