Telenor for Haiti
February 2010 - Telenor has joined UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children's Appeal by allocating the number 9009 free of charge. With the help of this number everyone can help victims if the earthquake that struck Haiti last month.
Users of Telenor can send SMS message reading “Haiti“ to number 9009 that will be valid in all networks. The message price is 50 dinars + VAT + PUMT.
In January a devastating earthquake struck the capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince that took over 100,000 lives. For over half months, international humanitarian organisations, as well as many countries have been sending aid to children and earthquake victims who lost their homes and are on the verge of hunger.
Haiti was once one of the richest French colonies and is now one of the poorest countries of the world.
